R1 - Practice Carer Support Page

Charnwood Community Medical Group is committed to helping to identify and support Carers.

The Practice lead for Carer support is Paul Hanlon (Business Manager).

Each year the practice competes the Carer Support Quality Markers for General Practice and makes pledges for each of the quality markers for the next 12 months.

If you would like to tell us that you are a Carer, need any additional support or would like to ask any questions about how Charnwood Community Medical Group support Carers please contact Paul Hanlon using the contact us form below.

A carer is anyone who provides unpaid support to a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse issues. Carers often feel they are doing what anyone else would do in that situation; looking after mum, son or best friend and just getting on with it, but caring can be physically and emotionally demanding so it is important for caring responsibilities to be recognised and for support to be offered.

A young carer is a child or young person under 18. An adult carer is a person over 18.
