Shout is a free texting service in the UK; offering confidential support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Local health partners are supporting the service and promoting it to local patients across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

How it works:

If someone is in need of support, they text Shout to 85258

They will be referred to a trained CRISIS Volunteer, who can provide support but not medical advice. If at any time they wish to end the conversation, text STOP and they won't receive any further texts.

The conversation only ends once they are in a calm and safe place, ideally with a plan for support going forward.
